Maundy Thursday Oxford

Hi all,

Yesterday I went to Oxford to visit my friend who is at Uni there. We had a really great time exploring the city. It just so happened to be Maundy Thursday, and we saw the Queen and Prince Philip! (in their car) We had no idea that they were coming to Oxford, so that was quite exciting.

I got to sample the delights of G&D's ice cream (a highlight of the trip) I enjoyed my green tea ice cream which was really tasty.

This Ice Cream machine is HUGE!!!

A quick trip to the Pitt Rivers museum was in order, (I have a previous post where I visited before) but here are a few pics from the special exhibition which is on now, it is looking at Black foot shirts. Three porcupine quilted Blackfoot shirts.

We also wandered around two of the many colleges in Oxford. We would have done more had it not been freezing cold!!!

So thats an insight into my little trip to Oxford

Marc by Marc Jacobs Phone Cases

Hi all,

What do an owl a dog, a Zebra and a bunny all have in common???
Well, all of these animals feature on the super cute Marc by Marc Jacobs i-phone cases. I initially only knew about the bunny one, a chic version of others I had seen on the market, but I was blown away by the cuteness of the others. I love the zebra, he is definitely my fav (unfortunately I don't own an i-phone... but if I did....)
The little ears that stick up are really adorable too.

What do you think of these?
How do you jazz up your phone

Armour Dress

Hi all,

Here is the small scale dress that I have been working on for my armour project.
I printed onto the velvet with silver ink using a silk screen. The metal is aluminium, which I edged with the velvet I used for the main part of the dress. Hope you like it :)

Working on such a small scale was quite tricky. The fabric (as pretty as it is) had the tendency to slip when sewn on the machine, so most of the sewing was done by hand.
I might make some more things on this scale, I quite like how quickly different ideas can be produced.

Fashion Armour Illustration

Hi all,

My current project at college is based on armour, which is quite exciting. I have really enjoyed looking into armour and its links to fashion and architecture (particularly gothic armour)
I am working on a small scale, making things for my mini mannequin and I have been using aluminium sheet metal, which has been... interesting.

I am really enjoying fashion illustration now, and am looking to improve my skills. The best way to do so is to...practice. So here is an illustration I have done of a design during this protective project :)
